Rose offers editorial services in fiction, non-fiction, academic writing, and reportage, from line-editing nearly-finished manuscripts to structural revisions of earlier-stage works. I am interested in working with anyone who wants to work deeply with prose, from academics in the social sciences, fiction writers with novels and short stories, nonfiction writers with memoirs and essays, and reporters working on long investigative pieces. I am particularly excited to hear from people writing in genres not traditionally their own.
I welcome queries from writers from all backgrounds and am particularly interested in working with those from traditionally under-represented groups including queer, trans, and BIPOC writers. If you identify as such, and feel that finances are getting in the way of the editing your work needs, please let me know in your query email and I will consider this in my pricing for your project.
For organisations looking for an editor and story mentor to work with reporters on specific investigative journalism projects, I work with writers anywhere along the line from the initial pitch to the publishable story.
Please get in touch with details of your project (length, genre, and what stage your work is at) and I will let you know my availability and fees.
“Rose is a brilliant writer and editor. She sees what makes good art, and what it needs to level up.” Erin Stalcup, author of Keen and Every Living Species and founder of Waxwing Magazine.
“Rose is an excellent editor for those working to balance fine-grained, on-the-ground detail and texture with wider, global significance.” Caroline Tracey, reporter.
“Rose contributed her skills as an editor and trainer to give each journalist hands-on guidance and support as they brought their stories from concept to completion. She’s a pro, with great story instincts and a collaborative spirit.” Devon Terrill, program officer for journalism and media at the Stanley Center for Peace and Security
