Departments, foundations, and academic presses come to Field Studio for two reasons: to bring specialist, expert-led writing development to their own community, and to give individual scholars – junior faculty, graduate students and fellows – access to training they wouldn’t otherwise have time or resources to develop in-house.
Since 2022, Field Studio has worked with faculty and graduate students at leading anthropology departments, including Columbia, the University of Michigan, the University of Edinburgh, Oxford University, and the Geneva Graduate Institute.
We’ve delivered bespoke residential workshops for the Wenner-Gren Foundation, the School of Advanced Research, and the School of Criticism and Theory at Cornell University and developed a dedicated scholarship program for doctoral students with the anthropology departments at Columbia and Duke.
Bespoke Workshops
We can provide custom-designed, in-person or hybrid programs built around your institution’s needs – from short intensive residencies to multi-week hybrid formats. Programs can be tailored to a specific career stage, from undergraduates to senior scholars, or designed around a particular goal, such as completing a first book or reaching a broader public audience.
Supporting Individual Scholars
Departments and foundations can also fund individual scholars – junior faculty, doctoral students, or fellows – to join Field Studio’s existing online courses, either individually or as part of a discounted block booking. Whichever route suits your institution, you’ll be working with the same expert-led training: MFA-level creative writing craft, built specifically for scholars, and grounded in a genuine understanding of academic disciplines and their demands.
