Writing is often a solitary pursuit, one we know takes real time and dedication, and has to be carved out around everything else pressing for your attention. Writers’ Room is a dedicated space, held every month, to spend time with craft, with writing, and with other writers.
We meet online, starting with a short craft lesson and close reading of a short piece of literature, before settling into a generative writing session together. Use the prompt we offer, or bring your own project – whatever will move your writing forward that day. Camera on or off, we don’t mind; come as you are.
How it works
The room meets once a month, with the date for the next session published a month ahead. Because our community spans time zones, we schedule around Eastern Standard Time (EST) which shifts between GMT and GMT+1 depending on the time of year. Do check with us if you’re ever unsure.
What you will gain
Together, we’ll strengthen:
- Community – connect with other writers, hear about their projects, and feel a little less alone in yours
- Craft – learn new tools and techniques by studying the work of published authors
- Language – see what language can do, both in the work of others and in your own writing
